Credit Card ProcessingWe Make it Easy to Accept All the Ways to Pay
So, What is exactly is Credit Card Processing?
Credit Card Processing has two pieces:
- Front-end processors that connect to the credit card associations and provide authorization and settlement services.
- Back-end processors accept settlements from the front-end processors and move the money to a merchants' bank.
Boise Merchant Services uses both a front-end and a back-end processor who oversees the entire transaction process. That means more seamless transactions with a single point of contact for you.
How Does Credit Card Processing Work?
When your customer pays with their credit or debit card, the payment processor receives the payment details. They check for potential fraud before forwarding them thru the card association to the bank that issued your customer's credit card. Once the customer's credit card details are verified, that information is sent back to you the merchant so you can complete the transaction. If the payment is denied by the card association or issuing bank, that information is sent the merchant so you can then decline the transaction. This happens in just a few seconds.
